i was going to post this for assignment 6 - portrait of my husband - because it conveyed such a sense of happiness, but i didn't like the shadow cast on his face from a passerby.

eating ice cream is serious business

i shot this at sunset outside of Scoop Beauregard's ice cream shop on Washington Boulevard in Westover for assignment 6 - portrait of my husband.

i took this abstract water shot of a fountain in the U.S. Botanical Garden for assignment 5 - light and the color of light.

celebration - another work day comes to an end

this was my #1 pick for the celebration assignment, but i thought it might be too abstract to submit for the homework.

i used depth of field and a low vantage point to highlight the blooming flowers and bare-branched tree in the background to convey a sense of spring for assignment 4 - celebration.

i shot my three tiki mugs for assignment 3 - depth of field.

i also converted it to black and white for assignment 2 - shutter speed.

also for assignment 1 - vantage points - i got this awesome shot of the supreme court. this is slightly color-corrected in a Microsoft picture editing program. no edits other than that.
